Lactation Counselors
When do I contact a CLC?
- During pregnancy when breastfeeding questions arise
- Before visiting the birthing center, hospital or home birth (if you would like a counselor present post birth)
- After a complicated birth, C-Section, while baby is in the NICU
- If you feel your milk hasn't come in
- Within baby's first week
- If your Dr. is concerned about weight gain and suggests formula for your baby
- If baby has difficulty latching, is very fussy, or breastfeeding is painful
- If your doctor has noticed a restriction, Tongue Tie or Lip Tie or Post a Revision
- For advice on building a routine, pumping, starting solid/baby foods and weaning
- Anytime you are worried, feel like breastfeeding is not going well, or just need some reassurance.
